You Need an Education Plan ...

An educational plan is a requirement if you want to get and keep priority registration.


It's also a road map that makes it easier to be sure you're on the right track to meet your academic goals.


There are two types of ed plans, for new and continuing students. Here's what you need to know.

New Students — Comprehensive Education Plan

  • If you’re a new student who declared an associate degree for transfer (ADT) as your goal, you’ll find a helpful sample education plan already loaded in your Degree Works account.
  • If you’re a new student who does not have a sample education plan loaded in your Degree Works account, please reach out to your counselor.

Continuing Students — Comprehensive Education Plan

If you want to keep priority enrollment, you must have a comprehensive ed plan covering three quarters or more. There are two ways to develop your comprehensive ed plan.

  • Option 1: Make an appointment to see one of Our Counselors. It will take less than 30 minutes.
  • Option 2: Create your plan using Degree Works, a online planning tool that you will find in the "Apps" section of MyPortal. 

Transfer Students — Comprehensive Education Plan

If you’re a new student who declared an associate degree for transfer (ADT) as your goal, you’ll find a helpful sample education plan already loaded in your Degree Works account. Check it out and contact your counselor for assistance. (You can find your educational goal on the Student Registration page in MyPortal, where you can update it as needed.)
