Careers in Marketing Management

Marketing is an essential part of business success; some companies think everyone should be considered part of its marketing team. Marketing relates to the conception, pricing, promotion and distribution of the ideas, goods or services that meet customer demand. Marketers are the people who study the competition, position a product in the marketplace and develop promotional campaigns. Career opportunities in marketing include product and brand management, advertising and public relations, market research and retailing. Opportunities in this field exist in organizations of all sizes. The California Employment Development Department's employment outlook through 2012 for marketing managers is quite positive; projected growth is almost 24%. Its outlook for sales managers is even stronger - over 34% growth for the same period (Source: Labor Market Info www.labormarketinfo.edd.ca.gov).
