Welcome to the De Anza College Transfer Planning Home Page!
This Web site is designed to provide students with the information necessary to transfer to a California State University (CSU), University of California (UC), or California Private/Independent Universities as well as out-of-state transfer institutions. Successful transfer to a four-year institution requires careful planning and course selection. Students are strongly advised to meet with a counselor or academic advisor in the Counseling & Advising Center to develop an effective educational plan for transfer. Ideally, such a plan should incorporate admission, lower-division general education (GE), lower-division major, and elective requirements. While the primary focus of this Web site is on the three segments of higher education in California, keep in mind that it may be possible to use coursework from De Anza College to transfer to out-of-state institutions as well. If you are interested in out-of-state schools, you are encouraged to contact the Admission Offices of each prospective university to determine specific admission and transfer credit policies and procedures. De Anza College participates in Transfer Admission Agreement/Guarantee programs with several universities, which is a contractual agreement that guarantees admission to students who fulfill specific GPA and course requirements. For more information about transfer admission agreements it is important to read the specific TAA/TAG Information Handout for the campus you are interested in. For more information about transfer planning refer to the De Anza College Catalog.
